Aid and Development
The International Projects Unit (IPU) draws upon the resources of Queensland's Department of Education and Training to manage its diverse portfolio of global Aid and Development projects. Education Queensland International has proudly supported and contributed to aid and development projects for the past 25 years, providing resources of 50,000 staff.
Funding and facilitation
IPU Aid and Development projects are usually funded by private investors, consortiums and international aid and development agencies, including the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), Asian Development Bank, World Bank and organisations such as UNESCO
Projects may be facilitated independently or in association with partner organisations.
Projects
IPU Aid and Development projects which have been supported by EQI include:
- Papua New Guinea Curriculum Reform Implementation Project
EQI is currently supporting this Aid and Development project by providing specialist curriculum advisers to work in collaboration with officers from the Curriculum Development Division of the PNG Department of Education. Queensland’s specialist curriculum advisers have been deployed to provide advice about syllabi development and the compilation of teacher support documents for elementary and primary grades (P-8).
This $AUD5 million project is a partnership activity with the Queensland Education Consortium (QEC) and AusAID.
