Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I know if a Griffith University course has a portfolio or audition?
Each Griffith University degree will list entry requirements including portfolio or audition requirements.  Please refer to the Griffith Course Catalogues for details: http://www.griffith.edu.au/future-students

  2. What fees do I have to pay for a Griffith University course?
Only students with offer letters for programs that have a quota will be required to pay the first semester tuition fees in advance (to receive their packaged CoE).

  3. Are these fees refundable for a Griffith University course?
The full fee is refundable if the student doesn't meet requirements for admission. If the student meets all requirements but does not commence, the amount refunded will be the tuition fees paid less AUD$400.  Students can refer to the Request for Refund of Fees application form - http://www.griffith.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/174039/Refund_Form.pdf
There is no deposit required for non quota programs.

  4. How will students and agents know if there is a quota for a program?
There will be a statement in the offer letter advising that there is quota for the degree.

  5. How will students and agents know what the OP score will be for a Griffith University course?
The offer letter will contain a statement indicating that students must meet the OP entry requirement of X year (year of degree entry).  Once Year 12 results are released, students will be required to forward copies of their results to Griffith International, who will then advise whether the student has met the program entry requirements.
If the student does not meet the minimum entry requirements for their degree program, they may be offered the option of another degree program or alternative pathway program.

  6. Do I also need to apply through QTAC?
International Students do not need to apply through QTAC – their degree placements are guaranteed if they have the OP score and meet the portfolio, audition or prerequisite requirements (if applicable).

  7. Can I change the choice of my Griffith University degree program?
Yes. To change degree program at any time, students can contact Griffith University directly.

  8. I will still be under 18 during the gap between my high school and degree program start date. Will I be able to remain in Australia during this time?
Unfortunately not – you will need to return home for this gap period.
