Gladstone
Gladstone offers much opportunity for international students who are interested in regional industries. The area is world-famous for its strong industrial economy, and is home to the largest aluminium smelter and cement operations in Australia, and the world's largest alumina refinery. Gladstone industries operate 24 hours every day, and ensure a sound economic base for the region through the employment of thousands of people.
For international students who are interested in continuing on to tertiary study in Gladstone, Central Queensland University's Gladstone Marina campus is home to the University's Process Engineering and Light Metals research centre and the Centre for Environmental Management.
